Vietnam gold price added up VND0.22 million a tael on Thursday morning

Vietnam gold price was added up VND0.22 million a tael from yesterday close to VND43.37 million a tael on Thursday morning despite the world gold prices slightly fell last night in New York.

SJC Hanoi quoted at VND42.95million/tael for bid and VND43.37 million/tael for ask, respectively as of 9:26 am, Hanoi time.

SJC Ho Chi Minh listed at VND42.95-43.35 million/tael for bid and ask, respectively.

Sacombank-SBJ gold prices were listed at VND42.95-VND43.35million/tael for bid and ask, respectively.

Rong Thang Long gold, a product of Bao Tin Minh Chau company was trading at VND41.90 million/tael and VND42.30 million/tael for bid and ask, respectively.

Domestic gold premium stood high at VND1.77 million/tael today or 4.43 times higher the SBV’s target of VND400,000/tael.

Global Markets: Gold Up In Both New York and Asia

In New York last night, gold prices gave up its gains to slightly settle down as Euro gives up ground.

Spot gold was down at $1,612.50 an ounce. U.S. gold futures for February delivery settled down $4 an ounce at $1,613.60.

At Kitco Floor this morning, spot gold was quoted at $1,612.80 -1,613.80 as of 9:32 am, Hanoi time.

Gold was slightly down inline with the euro after the news that European Central Bank loans failed to convince investors.

Analysts said that the macro environment is gloomy. Europe is going to be in recession next year, the U.S. maybe will see modest growth, and China (is) slowing. The yellow metal is still believed to be positive now but it is trading as a risk rather than a safe haven.
